I AM SO GRATEFUL that I found Dr. Gaugau and staff, they are the best! I have been suffering with horrible painful periods and heavy bleeding since I started at 11 years old, I am now 44. The doctors and gynecologist that I've seen in the past, would either say it's nothing wrong or just try to put me on birth control. Finally at the age of 38, my gynecologist scheduled me for surgery for endometriosis which I was so happy to finally get some relief and answers to why I have such horrible peiords, have never been able to conceive, and my anemia. Unfortunately, the surgery did not go as expected because the gynecologist said that I have fibroids, not endometriosis. She said that if she remove the fibroids, it can cause worse damage and she referred me to a infertility clinic. She suggested that I get a hysterectomy. I was upset because I felt like I went through a surgery for no reason. I was confused and didn't understand how the infertility doctor could see fibroids on my ultrasound, but my gynecologist didn't. Needless to say, I ended up having to receive two blood transfusion because my hemoglobin was extremely low. That's when I knew I had to find a doctor that I could trust and that specialized in fibroids. I googled and came across Dr. Gaugau. He had so many great reviews and success stories, so I gave them call. The front office ladies were so knowledgeable, professional, and friendly. They answered all of my questions which made me feel confident that I called the right place. I love them for that! I traveled from the 757 area of Virginia to meet with Dr. Gaugau for my consultation. He was so nice and showed so much concern and empathy. He also answered every question I had. Once he reviewed my MRI images, he immediately knew what my issues were. Not only did I have multiple fibroids, but I had Adenomyosis. I had no clue what Adenomyosis was and my gynecologist had the same MRI results and had never mentioned that. Dr. Gaugau explained what Adenomyosis was and confirmed that was what caused me the most issues. He told me that the Uterine Fibroid Embolization would be my best option for Adenomyosis and Fibroids. I prayed and felt in my heart that I could trust Dr. Gaugau, so I scheduled the surgery. OMG, when my surgery date came October 15, 2025, I was a nervous wreck! However, I did it!!! Now, I am just speaking for me when I say this, because everyone's pain tolerance is different, but after surgery that pain damn near killed me, my grandmother even cried for me that night because it was horrible. I regretted those next couple of days...HOWEVER, I DIDN'T REGRET IT AFTER MY SECOND PERIOD AND NOW ALMOST 7 MONTHS LATER, I HAVE ABSOLUTELY NO REGRETS!! When my cycle comes, No more heavy bleeding and no more horrible cramps. This was one of the best decisions I made in my entire life! I am sooooo grateful. I could barely leave the house when my cycle came because of the pain and I always messed my clothes up. I would bleed through an super plus tampon and a overnight thick pad within an 30 to 45 mins for 2-3 days. NOW, I forgot that my cycle is on and I can leave home comfortably without the fear of being embarrassed from bleeding through my clothes. I wish I would've known this 30 years ago because I literally suffered badly every month for years!!! I would recommend Dr Gaugau and I would recommend this surgery for anyone who is suffering like I did.

I’ve been struggling with concern and despair about my health. I didn’t seek a second opinion because my previous doctor insisted there were only two options. That wasn’t true.Dr. Gaugau is out here helping women like me and giving us hope for tomorrow. Knowing that he studies, attends conferences, and relies on scientific evidence makes me even more grateful and excited to be his patient. I just had Uterine Artery Embolization done on 4/06/2026 to treat fibroids and adenomyosis. I found the practice online via google search and I decided to give it a try. As of today, I am recovering very well and going about my normal business. I will be back with a detailed update in three months time when the Fibroids are expected to have shrank, heavy bleeding stopped and uterine lining in a great condition. The staff are very amazing and Dr. Gaugau is an excellent listener who has a passion for making women’s life easier and better. I highly recommend him!
